The first opportunity to see the machines in action is at the Scottish Meat Trade Fair in Perth on Sunday 10th May. Customers in the South of England can attend the open day in Buxted, East Sussex on Tuesday 12th May and for the Midlands, an event takes place on Tuesday 26th May at the Avery Berkel headquarters in Smethwick.

The WA series is a compact, automatic weigh-wrap-label system for in-store packing of up to 35 packs per minute and the WS machine is a semi-automatic machine. The integrated system can cut operator time by up to 30% and reduce wrapping film costs by 25%.

Using image recognition CCD camera technology, the machine identifies each pack type and configures the entire weighing, wrapping and labelling operation, in advance of the pack arriving.

Wrapping film costs are reduced by using two rolls, with the machine automatically switching between them depending on the pack size and its shape, with no loss of throughput speed. Optimising the film stretch for the pack, so there are no wrinkles or distorted packs due to overstretching, improves presentation and customer appeal.
